The history of our hotel

Since 1958 there for YOU!

A hotel, that satisfies the highest customer demands.

...that was the title of the Amberger newspaper about the opening of Hotel Brunner in December 1958.

The town was proud to be able to present such a new hotel, which had based its room size and facilities on the Hotel Hilton in Berlin. The press named it the “Kempinski from Amberg”, as it was one of the most modern hotels at that time. On the 17th March 1956 family Brunner started with the construction of the hotel on the "Teufelsbäck" grounds, planned by the well-known architect Edwin Gräf.

On the 20th June there was a small celebration after the roof had been erected and from Christmas 1958 onwards, family Brunner welcomed their first guests into their newly furnished hotel, with all its modern comforts and a home felt personal service - from now on Amberg had an added attraction. In 1978 the Schatz family took over the hotel. Renovations took place and an extension was built in order to keep up the standards and to offer their guests an even better service.

Since the 50th Jubilee in 2008 all rooms have been modernised and newly furnished and the bathrooms have been changed and enlarged. The wishes and demands of the guests still determine the facilities and service of the hotel. We want to continue spoiling our guests!

We would also like to welcome you to our hotel in the future!
