The tour
From Franconia to the Upper Palatinate
The Grottenradweg is an exciting, but also somewhat challenging bike tour. It starts at Neuhaus an der Pegnitz in Franconia. The route is lined with numerous caves. Especially the several thousand years old Maximiliansgrotte, the Osterhöhle as well as the stone city invite to an unforgettable visit. Idyllic little towns like Königstein and Eschenfelden invite you to linger.
Grottenradweg in bavarian Jura
The beautiful landscape is also very attractive. The Bavarian Jura with its gentle hills lines the almost 15 kilometre long Grottenradweg. If one ends the tour finally in Neukirchen with Sulzbach Rosenberg one had the possibility to refresh oneself in the nature bath king stone or to be astonished also over the oldtimers in the speed greenhouse in Eschenfelden.
If you then feel like driving a little further, why not visit the aerial art town of Amberg. At Hotel Brunner we invite you to take advantage of the“Radl-Kurztrip” offer. For a reasonable price you will not only get an overnight stay with our delicious breakfast buffet, but also a bike snack. It makes you fit for the road ahead! And maybe you would like to cycle the Grottenradweg one more time and visit the Zyprianstein and the castle chapel in Breitenstein.
We wish you a lot of fun on the Grottenradweg! By the way, our map shows the end point of the tour in Neukirchen.
